This week I wanted to give a shout out to some very special people, who belong to a very special group: The Johns Creek High School Drama Department.

I have been involved in their program for a few years, as my daughter is very interested in the dramatical and cinematographic arts. Throughout the years, I got to meet a wonderful group of parents, students and teachers. Together they put in a lot of work and the outcome is always an incredible quality performance that blows everybody’s mind.

The head of the Drama department , Debbie Prost, is a very talented Director. She has a Master Degree in Education and a BA in Theatre Arts. She has been teaching for 11 years. She taught theatre in Gilbert, Arizona and in Sherwood, Arkansas before starting at Johns Creek High School, 5 years ago.

This past week, I had the privilege to be part of the 2 One Act shows as their photographer. From the individual headshots of the cast and crew members to the group shots, to the pictures of the performances, I was lucky to be a part of this group.Very soon, I will also be involved in the next play of the season, a murder mystery : Done to Death. You should definitely come watch the show on the 6th, 7th and 8th of November at 7PM, you will not be disappointed! The next big event will be a Musical in Febuary. If you have not seen a musical performed by the Johns Creek High School students, you absolutely need to put it on your calendar. There is a life Orchestra directed by the wonderful Musical Director of the school, Rhonda Fossum. There are so many talents and so much work involved to reach an amazing level of show performance. It is hard to believe they are highschoolers and not famous stars of the showbiz. The Musical this year is Footlose and the show will be on Febuary 19th, 20th and 21st at 7PM and also, there will be a Matinee on the 21st at 1PM. Mark your calendars! And now, I will share a few pictures of past shows. Enjoy!

Senior pictures, from the first to the last moment, are a real joy for me! For many reasons, seniors are one of my favorite group of people to take pictures of. The first reason is probably that I had a senior of my own, my daughter Celine who graduated from High School last year. Another reason is that these young minds have the world ahead of them. They are full of dreams, they are passionate about what they want out of life and they have an incredible amount of energy!

I like to think we share a very special bond during the whole photo journey. The session is always pretty special. They can rest assured that together, we create special memories that they will forever be proud of. It is important that they show who they are and what makes their personality and the person they are becoming. From the clothes and accessories to the location and the poses / expressions, everything is important. It is crucial to me that I give them a unique session with unique pictures; something to remind them that they are one of a kind. That is why I want them to share their vision of their perfect senior pictures (if they have one)  and together we can accomplish anything. Creativity is a big part of this job and I love it! So don’t be shy and call me about your upcoming senior session so we can seal those perfect memories together!

I thought you might like some pictures to look at, so here are a few of one of my latest seniors, Kate. She is a wonderful young lady, ready to conquer the world. She loves life, enjoys photography (not unlike someone else I know 🙂 ) and admires nature. She was a lot of fun to work with and I know the world is ready for her !

What on earth is a image bloc?

Stick with me and you will soon understand…

We all know that when the time comes to order the pictures that the photographer took of us and/or of our family, we can sometimes be overwhelmed with the choice of products. Prints, canvasses, image blocs, metal prints. All of those are just wonderful to own but today, I want to talk to you about a fairly new product that really brings something new and has a modern feel to it. I ordered one for myself and, as I opened my package (I am always very excited when I receive a package) I was blown away by how vivid, warm and classy this ready to hang picture was.      For starters, the picture is wrapped around a 1 inch thick wood block which gives it immediately this sense of a sturdy, quality product.   Then, what makes this image bloc so special is that it is printed on a slightly metallic base. That, right there, adds a slight warm shimmer and make the colors more vibrant. The over all finish is matte, so I feel it also brings more depth to the picture.   I would personally advice not to chose anything under 16×24. It may look big when you first look at it but, take my word for it, once you hang it on that wall, it will look a lot smaller! The hanging system is very sturdy and stable too. If you want something fun, you should definitely try the cubes image blocs too. It is the same product but in a 4 or 8 inch cube that you can place on a table or anywhere you wish in the house. Perfect for a desk or a bedroom, it allows you to turn the cube and enjoy 6 different pictures at any time! Don’t take my word for it (although you can, because I love all of these products!) just have a look at the pictures below and I know you won’t be able to resist!

See you soon!

Have you ever thought about a milestone photo shoot? Having your pictures taken to mark a special date, a special time in your life, to remind yourself and others that you love where you are at this moment.

Stacey thought it was important to take the time to do that, and together we created the concept for this shoot, and the different aspects of it. Being a businessman, he wanted to show in his pictures his willpower and dedication, but he also wanted to show a more social and fashionable side of himself – which, I have to say, was a lot of fun.

The location we chose north of Atlanta had a lot to offer, and we took advantage of the different scenery. The session was very relaxed and we took the time to learn a little more about each other. When we met again after the shoot, Stacey explained that, with the pictures, he wanted to convey a message to his friends and family. I created a 3 panel card especially for his need. The whole design of this card was tailored just for him, with enough room for both images and messages. From the selection of the colors, the the layout and of course the choice of pictures, everything was designed to fit his personality. I take a lot of pride in my work, and it was very important to me that he was happy with the end result. We also incorporated his life philosophy and the quotes he wanted to share. The communication that we had together was wonderful, and I have to say that working with Stacey was a real pleasure – he truly is a remarkable person.

Alpharetta events:

I don’t know about you, but I feel that we get so busy with our lives that we don’t always know the things that are happening right under our nose, in our community, right here in Alpharetta.

This past week-end, my daughter and I decided to check out a local horse show held at the Equestrian Center in Wills Park, Alpharetta. It may have been a damp Georgia summer day, but the mood there was light and happy. One of the judges of the competition happened to be a very sweet lady I know; Lee Ullman from Joshua Creek farm –http://www.joshuacreekfarm.com/– in Alpharetta. With all her knowledge and experience, she was a valuable addition to the judging panel. We sat there and watched riders jump and show their horses. I was surprised to learn that the center has shows almost every week-end, so if you are looking for something different to do, some local events,  definitely give the Equestrian Center a try.

And if you are searching for a place to learn about horses or to improve your equestrian skills, look no further than Joshua Creek Farm. Lee Ullman and her daughter Susan Regets are truly amazing instructors and people. They also happen to be the proud owners of Chase, otherwise known as Flame in the  season  4 of  AMC’s “The Walking Dead”… So if meeting a celebrity horse is on your bucket list, you now know where you can find one!
